Shape Learning Internationally

In order to enhance education and ultimately improve our global community, we must address critical issues, including education reform and social justice, on a worldwide scale. These are just a few of the challenges faculty and students are tackling at the George Washington University. Imagine studying in the heart of the nation's capital, surrounded by the buzz of international diplomacy, innovation, and culture. Our International Education program within the Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) provides immersive experiences, preparing students for leadership roles in training, education, and development in cross-cultural settings.

Engage with opinion leaders, connect with a vibrant community of scholars from across the world, and learn from renowned faculty who are experts on global policy trends, assessments, conflict and education, student exchange, equity, global citizenship, and more. With GW's International Education Program, the world is yours to explore, understand, and impact.

Having completed GSEHD's international master's and certificate programs, I found the combination invaluable! The MA provided a firm foundation in theory, critical thinking, publishing, and educational research while the certificate coursework was deeply integrated with educational practice. I also appreciated the range of classmates from those bound for international organizations and educators currently in the classroom endeavoring to bring missing global perspectives to their students. The programs proved the perfect combination for me as I moved into a position developing curriculum related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. I am so grateful for my time at GW!
